It has certainly taken a lot of hard work, but working out and eating right have become a way of life and something automatic that I don't even have to think about. I remember a year ago trying to play a pickup game of football and being dead after just one sprint, but now I can play sports for hours on end and can only tribute that to this boot camp class.

"When I first learned about Fit 4 You boot camp through a friends Facebook comment I thought this is exactly what I need to get motivated to work out again. Unfortunately then I learned it was in Fleming Island and I live in Arlington. This is about a 35 - 40 minute drive. I decided to sign up for 12 sessions and thought about after that I would be motivated to work out on my own. I have lost about 15 pounds and am half way to my goal. I love that the workouts are never the same. You are definitely never bored. I have tried other forms of exercise in the past (gym memberships, running, home workout tapes) but I would always workout for a while, lose a few pounds, then quit. There has never been a workout that can hold my attention long enough to reach my fitness goals. Boot camp has definitely fit that bill. Not only has bott camp helped me lose weight but I have also changed my lifestyle. I have developed healthy eating habits by sending Katie a food journal every week, which holds me accountable. I have also traded in happy hour for working out and the days I do not attend boot camp I take a spin class at the gym.
I'm excited to continue boot camp into the winter months hopefully losing the next 15 pounds as well as warding off the holiday weight gain I experience every year.
Each year in January I begin my goal setting process. I look at various areas of my life like my relationship with God, my family, work, health & fitness, and personal development. As January would come I would typically get off to a good start hitting on all cylinders in most areas on the list. But inevitably a few months down the road I would find that many of the items would remain unrealized.

When it came to health and fitness I seemed to fail miserably in spite of my best efforts. I am now 40 years old and over the past 10 years there were seasons of my life where I seemingly did well with either working out, or eating right, but it was a rare combination to have both clicking at the same time. I tried again and again with a series of workout plans and diet plans, and somehow looked at the scale one day and realized that I had gained almost 40 pounds in 10 years.
The weight gain had an effect on many other areas in my life. Because I was out of shape and overweight my self esteem was lower. I stopped enjoying some outdoor activities. I began to snore. My spiritual life was even impacted because spirit, soul, and body are so closely knit that when one is out of what the others all seem to follow suit.
On July 6th of this year I began training with Eric. Man have things changed. Eric taught me, challenged me, coached me, and educated me on health and fitness beyond anything I had ever experienced before. He took my work-outs to levels that I would have never pushed myself to on my own. He tailored those work-outs specifically towards my body type and weight loss goals. He told me that I could work out all day, but if I did not learn to eat right I would never see the weight loss that I desire.
I began putting the things he was telling me into practice and as I write this letter some 5 months later I have now lost right around 40 pounds of weight. I feel better, I am stronger, faster, I sleep better, I don't snore, my blood pressure is back to normal, and I feel more mentally alert which has also translated into other areas of health in my life.
The side affects? None of my clothes fit anymore. It's time to go shopping as I have lost over 8 inches on my waist alone. It's crazy I feel like I am swimming in all of my clothes. Additionally, my wife loves my new body, I feel younger, I look younger, and I can fit into clothes in sizes I haven't seen in 15 years!
What made the difference? In my opinion it was the trainer. Having someone who really knows what they were talking about hold me accountable on a weekly basis towards making progress. I knew I would have to see him, I knew the scale would be there, and I knew that if I was slacking it would show in the workouts. Having a 3rd party assist me made all the difference in the world. As I indicated – I tried it on my own, but was never able to put all the pieces together to make the weight loss and health goals stick.
Finally, this year, after years of failing. Thanks to Eric and Katie I can check YES on my personal development column with regards to meeting my health and fitness goals.

I just want to thank you so much for helping me accomplish my weight loss goals the last 6 months. Weight has been an ongoing issue all my adult life. I’ve gained and lost so many pounds over the last 25 years. I feel you guys have truly helped me see the real benefits of a healthy life that does not mean I need to deprive myself.
In January 2009 I was at my highest weight, 195 lbs, and had my annual physical. Obviously I was obese, but my blood sugar was in the pre-diabetic range, my blood pressure was elevated and I had constant back pain. And get this I am a Hospital Corpsman working in a hospital!!! I felt my body was betraying me I had always been in excellent health. The truth was I was betraying my body by treating it like crap and feeding it garbage. That was my wake-up call. I put more effort in to exercising but didn’t really adjust or change my diet in any way.
In November 2009, I retired from the Navy with 24 years. One week before my ceremony I tried my Dress Blue Jacket and I looked like a stuffed sausage!!! I took it to the tailor shop and they were able to let it out and move the buttons so I looked presentable for my retirement. Wake up call number two. I was down to 185 lbs at this point and I started to pay more attention to what I was eating and increased my mileage running.
By next annual physical in January 2010, my blood sugar and blood pressure were normal and I moved from obese to overweight. I spent 2010 struggling with exercise and healthy food choices. On my own I was able to lose another 10 lbs and get down to 175 lbs. Every pound lost was a struggle and I fell back into bad habits easily. I was bored with my exercise routine and would skip workouts and that would lead to poor food choices, etc.
This in December 2010 a friend finally succeeded and talked me into working out with Katie at Fit 4 You. From the first Boot camp class I loved it and hated it!!!! I could feel my body working hard, but I felt like such a klutz and was unable many of the exercises correctly. Now six months later, I feel so much stronger. My initial weight loss goal was 160 lbs. I’m down to 158 lbs; I haven’t been this low in 15 years. I’m thinking 150lbs or even 145lbs may be my final goal. I can’t even believe I’m typing that low a weight for myself and knowing that it is possible with Katie and Eric’s help.
I still struggle with yo-yoing up and down, but having the accountability, the encouragement and the expert training from Katie and Eric has helped me make more time for exercise in my life and much smarter food choices more often than not. Boot camp class is always challenging and different; there in no way I can get bored with the routine. Thank you Katie and Eric for giving me a healthy life.

I met Eric in Nashville, TN. I had just finished high school and was starting college. I never played sports or was too active throughout high school, but I wasn't overweight. I was the little kid that was funny. Eric and I worked together at that time, and after becoming friends I decided to start going to the gym after work with him. After only 3 months I was making huge gains in muscle, but that was all I got because it was time to go off to college (3hrs away).
I had the typical college life; school, hanging out with friends, intramural sports, watching college football, etc. Along with that came the mountains of pizza, tailgating food, drinks, and late night eating. I knew I was putting on a little weight and I saw the number go up on the scale a few pounds here, a few pounds there. It wasn't until I had graduated college and was in the working world for a few years and married to my beautiful wife that I realized those few pounds really added up. I wanted to make a change but didn't know exactly how. So I purchased the P90X workout and decided to give that a try. It was very challenging and worked, but I wasn't able to take full advantage of it because I just wasn't in that good of physical shape. I was 5'7" and weighed 171lbs. I could barely do 1 pull up.
That's when I got back in contact with Eric. Even though I live in Texas and he is in Florida he helped me put together a workout routine, and he provided some food/meals that would be good to start working towards healthy eating. That was back in March of 2010. I was doing okay, but it was difficult to do something like that solo and fell out of the routine around November to Feb 2011. March 2011 I started going to the gym with a coworker and talking with Eric more and getting serious about eating healthier really helped. I can honestly say that without Eric's help I would not be anywhere close to where I'm at today. After having my body measurements taken in Aug 2011 I have lost overall 4% body fat, lost 8% fat in my abdominal alone. I've lost 11lbs in fat weight and gained 3lbs in lean weight. I've gone down so many belt notches that I had to get a new belt. Eric has not only been an inspiration but has been a huge support and part of turning my life around and becoming a more energized and healthier me.

Oddly enough I tell people all the time how much I love my personal trainer Mike. I started out with the Fit 4 You Boot Camp program and did that off and on for about a year until I decided to move forward into one on one training when I got stuck in a "workout rut".
I couldn't be more pleased with my decision so far. Mike has great knowledge and honestly does care about his clients. He is always there to push me even on the days when I am not training with him. The exercises we do are unique and I would have never learned them without his training.
Mike is always checking in on me to make sure I am staying on track with my nutrition and reminding me of how great I have been doing. Anytime I feel I am getting stuck or in pain because of the training, he is always there to help me out.
